1. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide directly

• Baby profile details such as baby name, birth date, gender (optional), and photo.
• Caregiver profile details such as caregiver role, invite email, and shared household information.
• Baby care records such as feeds, sleep, diapers, notes, reminders, routines, and history entries.
• Health and growth records such as medications, vaccines, temperature, symptoms, weight, height, head circumference, and wellness check-ins.
• Photos and media you add from your camera or gallery, including daily photo journal images and timelapse exports.

b. Account and sign-in information

If you choose to sign in with Google for optional sync or restore features, we may collect and process:

• Your Google account email address.
• Your display name.
• Your profile photo URL.
• Your Firebase authentication user ID and related sync identifiers.

c. Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase BabyBuddy Premium, Google Play processes the payment. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive subscription status, entitlement, and purchase verification data needed to unlock Premium features.

d. Device and app data

• Local app preferences such as reminder settings, theme preference, export settings, and backup options.
• Basic technical data needed to support notifications, sync, restore, exports, security, and reliability.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide core baby tracking features.
• Save your records locally on your device.
• Enable optional secure sync, restore, caregiver sharing, and backup features.
• Generate insights, summaries, reminders, and growth views based on the records you log.
• Export reports, CSV files, PDF files, and timelapse videos when you request them.
• Maintain subscription access and restore Premium purchases.
• Protect the app, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

3. Local Storage, Cloud Sync, and Sharing

a. Local storage by default

BabyBuddy is designed to work locally on your device. Most records are stored in the app's local database and private app storage unless you choose an optional cloud, export, or sharing feature.

b. Optional cloud sync and restore

If you enable supported cloud features, BabyBuddy may sync selected records using Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage. Supported sync payloads are encrypted before upload. Cloud features may require Google sign-in and a Premium subscription.

c. Caregiver sharing

If you invite a caregiver, shared household data may become visible to the invited caregiver account inside BabyBuddy. Photo sharing with caregivers only happens when you explicitly choose to share a supported image.

d. Photos and media

Daily photos and baby images are stored locally by default. Photos are not uploaded to the cloud by default. Media may be copied to a cloud or file destination only when you choose a feature that does so, such as export, restore, or supported caregiver sharing.

4. Notifications, Reports, and Exports

• BabyBuddy may send local notifications for reminders you enable, such as medication, sleep, feed, vaccine, or routine reminders.
• When you export a report or backup, the file is saved to a destination you choose on your device or connected storage provider.
• When you export a timelapse video, BabyBuddy renders media on-device and writes the final file to the location you select.

5. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

We may share information only in the following limited situations:

• With service providers that operate core app infrastructure on our behalf, such as Google Play Billing, Google Sign-In, and Firebase services.
• With invited caregivers when you choose to share household or supported baby data with them.
• When you export or back up data to a destination you select.
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, clear app data, or use the in-app delete-all-data feature.
• If you sign in for optional sync, some supported records may remain in cloud storage until deleted from the synced account or removed by support after a verified deletion request.
• You can sign out of Google at any time inside the app.

If you host a support page on a PHP-enabled server, you may also collect deletion requests through our deletion request form.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. This may include encryption in transit, encrypted sync payloads for supported cloud data, and private app storage on-device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

BabyBuddy is intended for use by parents, guardians, and caregivers, not by children as direct users. Information about a child or baby is entered by an adult user for household tracking purposes.

9. International Processing

If you use optional cloud features, your data may be processed by service providers such as Google and Firebase in countries where they operate. Those providers may process data under their own terms and privacy practices.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice inside the app when appropriate.
